I woke up in the morning and got ready for the day. The Sunflower City Backpacker Hotel is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, and it was a nice walk back to the train station.

I bought a one-way ticket from Rimini to San Marino at the Tabaccheria opposite the railway station and waited at the bus stop, which was about a 3โ€“4 minute walk to the right.

The bus arrived, and the driver scanned each passenger’s ticket. Once everyone was onboard, we were off to San Marino.

The bus dropped us off at the parking area near Cavallo. From there, most passengers dispersed to see the sights. I walked up until I reached the Piazzetta del Titano.

I continued on Via Eugippo and saw the “Dancing Girl” and other sculptures along the way.

Walking further, I saw the Cava dei Balestrieri and its impressive sculptures.

From there, I reached the Monumento a Bartolomeo Borghesi, where many flags were flying. I also saw the San Marino gondola lift station nearby.

Next was the Palazzo Pubblico della Repubblica di San Marino, the seat of the cityโ€™s government.

The Basilica di San Marino is a neoclassical 19th-century church containing relics of the patron saint of the Republic.

As I climbed further up, I was treated to panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.

Guaita is the oldest and most famous of the Three Towers of San Marino.

Cesta, the second tower, is located on the highest summit of Monte Titano.

Montale, the third and smallest tower, sits on the smallest of the summits.

After visiting all three towers, I walked back toward the main city center.

I visited the Chiesa San Francesco.

And saw the Monument to Girolamo Gozi.

And also the Convento dei Frati Cappuccini.

I headed back toward the bus stop and stopped at L’Osteria for a nice lunch.

At the bus stop, I bought a one-way ticket and boarded the bus back to Rimini.

Back in Rimini, I bought a ticket to the airport at the bus information kiosk.

I reached the airport early, and since it was fairly empty, I walked into town toward Miramare to buy a bottle of water at the Balkania Market before returning to the airport.

Once the security check opened, I headed to the gate area and had dinner at Bar dell’aeroporto. They have a terrace with great views of the apron, and the sunset skies were beautiful.

There were only three flights that evening: one to London and two back-to-back flights to Barcelona. I was on the later one, so I had plenty of time to relax.

The flight back to Barcelona was quick and uneventful, bringing my weekend exploring the two microstates in Italy to a close.
